FROM THE ORGANISERS:Unfortunately due to the recent spell of bad weather we have had to cancel next week’s Charndon 5k. The field where we park cars has flooded and despite our best efforts we were unable to find alternative arrangements. We are currently working on exploring the potential of a new date in July and will let you know details as soon as we have further information. Details on entries received will also be confirmed over the weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Regards, GaryGary WarlandChairman – Alchester RC

Fire Service College Annual 10K 2012
Posted by: graeme on Monday, May 07 @ 19:11:38 BST
|
 |
A lenghty search did not produce the results of the 2012 Fire Service College Annual 10K held on 29th April
However Alan Upstone was the only Hook Norton Harrier who braved the crazy weather conditions and he records his time as 62:44. Alan finished the race soaked
This is fast becoming a popular race in the calendar around the Moreton Fire Service College grounds

Milton Keynes Marathon - 29th April 2012
Posted by: graeme on Monday, April 30 @ 12:22:20 BST
|
 |
A single Hook Norton Harrier took on the first Milton Keynes Marathon. Running through the most attractive parts of Milton Keynes incl. parks and lakes, most competitors are forgiven for not noticing the beautiful countryside due to the difficult weather conditions. However the constant rain and strong winds did not deter the many supporters out on the course - one to consider for 2013!!
Graeme Hackland finished in 4:42:04

Mota-vation 2012 - Charlton race POSTPONED
Posted by: graeme on Monday, April 30 @ 12:05:55 BST
|
 |
FROM THE ORGANISERS: Thursday 3rd May's race is postponed.
The field where we normally park cars had standing water in places last night, so it is highly unlikely to be dry or firm enough to park cars next Thursday. The farmer is concerned about having the field churned up by cars getting stuck, and we are concerned about the possible difficulties if some one did get stuck in the dark. Unfortunately there is nowhere else that we can safely park 200+ cars.
We will seek to set a new date for this race over the next few days if we can. The race calendar (and our own "management" availability) makes this quite constrained, and it may be necessary to go for a weekend (or bank holiday) morning race late in the season.
